About the Lab

The Experimental Pharmacology
Laboratory (Dietis Lab) is a

molecular  and  behavioural  pharmacology laboratory based at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus.
Our research
revolves around drug discovery and drug repurposing through High-Throughput screenings of compound libraries against a set of biological target assays, in vitro and in vivo. We apply this knowledge to discover novel drugs or find new therapeutic applications for existing clinical drugs against various chronic diseases. The Lab is housed in a newly-built laboratory facility at the "Siakolas Educational Centre for Clinical Medicine" building in Nicosia, Cyprus.

"..I will use treatment to help the sick according to my ability and judgment, but never with a view to injury and wrong-doing. Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course. (..). But I will keep pure and holy both my life and my art. I will not use the knife, not even, verily, on sufferers from stone but I will give place to such as are craftsmen therein.."
